Description of the project: Jharkhand Council on Science & Technology (JCST), with expressed interest, approached Creative Museum Designers (CMD) to set up a planetarium in the semi-finished annexed building of the Science Centre. Considering the available locational infrastructural facilities and also considering the existing semi-finished dome structure, it is suggested that 8 m. vertical dome digital planetarium is most suitable for this purpose. Seating Capacity of the planetarium will be 40-45 (unidirectional). The annular area outside the planetarium dome is also proposed to be developed for an astronomy gallery having 20-25 astronomy related exhibits.

Present status: The present status of the project is as follows:

• Building construction work is complete in all respect.
• Planetarium Equipment is finalised.
• Exhibition space designing is in progress.
